“Seasonal Police Officer”
The Ocean City Police Department in Ocean City, Maryland is currently accepting applications for our 2010 Seasonal Police Officer Program.
Seasonal Police Officers supplement the year-round force in its delivery of services to the community. This assignment gives college-level criminal justice students and other qualified and interested persons the chance to experience first-hand the duties and responsibilities of a sworn Police Officer. Seasonal Police Officers work from patrol cars, foot posts, or on bicycles. Their duties include enforcement of state and local criminal laws, traffic laws, and investigating crimes and traffic collisions. Seasonal Police Officers also assist residents and visitors with a wide variety of concerns and problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED recognized by the Maryland Board of Education
• 21 years of age at the time of employment
• U.S. Citizenship
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation
Candidates must successfully complete a written examination, physical abilities test, structured interview, background investigation, and medical examination.
MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Good physical and mental condition
• Vision correctable to 20/20 with the ability to recognize basic colors
