NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE EXAM - Police Officer
EXAMINATION DATE: Thursday, December 17, 2009
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
• Must be at least twenty years plus six months of age and not more than forty-four years of age at the time of hire.
• High school diploma or official high school transcript. College diplomas or transcripts will not substitute.
If you do not have a high school diploma, you must provide the following:
a high school equivalency certificate (G.E.D.) certified by the issuing agency (IE: Texas Education Agency) and
a) transcripts showing a minimum of 12 hours at an institution of higher education with at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; or
b) an honorable discharge from the armed forces of the United States after at least 24 months of active duty service.
• Proof of valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Applicants subjected to extensive background investigation, oral interviews, physical agility screening, physical examination, and psychological requirements.
• Other requirements as set forth in the City of San Marcos Civil Service Rules and Regulations, the City of San Marcos Employee Handbook and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
BEGINNING SALARY: $44,011 Annually – Excellent Benefits Program.
